The attached parameter sync rule is an example of calculating weight for conduit straights and fittings.
Using Parameter Sync with PowerShell and Data Tables the rule has the following features,
- Volume calculation for conduit straights and fittings
- Weight calculation for contents of conduit straights and fittings based on volume 100% filled with water
- Conduit/fitting weight calculation based on length of conduit
In summary, the total weight of the conduit plus some weight for what is inside the conduit is calculated then written to the conduit straight/elbow/bend.
How would you calculate the weight of the contents of the conduit? I’ve heard go based on 40% fill but what exactly does that mean? Should 40% of the volume be entirely CU/AL, or should wire sizes and insulation be taken into account?
Feel free to ask any questions about modifying this Param Sync rule to fit your needs.
